Have you looked at your credit report? Roberto In the U.S., billions and billions of credit report updates occur each year. It is then understandable that a significant proportion of these are in error. Studies show that more than 70% of consumers that check their credit reports identify errors. Since your credit report is used to grant you or deny you loans, to set the interest rate of that loan, and even in some cases employers use it to make the decision of giving you a job, it is very important that you establish that your credit report is accurate.
You can get a free credit report once a year from each of the three credit bureaus. This will be enough for you to check them carefully and see that no errors have been logged in. If you are also interested in knowing your three FICO credit scores, you can also get these from the credit bureaus by paying a small fee.
Needless to say, it pays for you to check your credit histories before you go and apply for a loan for any reason.
