Sales of new homes rise in February

Sales of new homes rose 4.7% in February to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 337,000, up from a revised January figure of 322,000, according to a report of the U.S. Commerce Department. This is another piece of encouraging news about the housing market. The report says that if the current rate of sales continues, it would take about a year to eliminate the inventory of new homes on the market.
